MAGNETIC SYSTEMS OF MAGNETRONS
|
The issues of thermal stability in development of magnetic systems
of magnetrons are similar to those of TWT.
Insufficient heat removal from the magnetic system during operation
can lead to the output frequency drift. This drift is proportional
to the value of the reversible temperature coefficient of induction
which characterizes the magnetic material.
However, Nd-Fe-B magnets are successfully applied in commercial
magnetic systems.

Magnetic system "Cyclamen" produced according to the МАЕР.684116.112
technical specifications provides the longitudinal component of
magnetic induction in the range 165 - 230 mTesla (depending
on the number of tuning bridges). This system has been developed
for МИ 456 pulsed magnetron with output power Рout = 2.5 MWt,
Рav = 5 kWt, frequency 2800 ± 10 MHz,
and t = 6 mks for medical applications.
